Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. Sorry I’m a day late guys. This last week has been super busy for me. I’m gong to be moving soon so it’s only gonna get busier. I just moved on to the 11th grade! So like, DAMN! Haha, so let’s begin with the review!
This superhero film was directed by James Mangold and is a Marvel Productions. It was released in February, 2017.
Duration: 2 hours 17 minutes (137 minutes)
- James “Logan” Howlett/ Wolverine (Hugh Jackman)
- Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart)
- Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook)
- Caliban (Stephen Merchant)
- Laura/ X-23 (Dafne Keen)
The story revolves around our slowly dying, loved by all superhero, Wolverine, who starts off the movie trying to live a normal life. As a cab driver, Logan (Wolverine) is in charge of driving people across the U.S.A-Mexico border. An encounter with a person who recognizes him causes the ‘bad guys’ to go behind his back. Mutants are expected to be on the verge of extinction and humans have finally found ways to counter a majority of them. On the way, Logan meets Laura a.k.a. X-23, and experiment for a mutant project and it becomes his mission to protect her from the ‘bad guys’.
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve reviewed like this and that too a movie. Starting off into the movie, the introduction of Wolverine was actually pretty nice. They still give Wolverine that bad-ass attitude that we love with a shadow of’please don’t make me kill you’. As the movie progressed I did realize why some kids should avoid this movie. Partly because of the bad language and mostly because of the amount of blood and gore i nthis film. The way they displayed how mutants have slowly depleted from the eyes of the planet is kind of cool and how Wolverine is trying to keep some ‘special’ mutants is even cooler. The story wasn’t developed properly. For the first about hour of the movie you’re just like “Shit.. This is good!” but then as the movie goes on you’re like “Mmhmm.. ok.” More than this movie being about the last movie of the wolverine I would say this is a great introduction to the new x-men. Hugh Jackman did a very good job but he lacked a certain element of surprise in his fights (this keeping in mind that the fight scenes were actually really good). They stretched the movie along a bit more than required. If they had shortened it and cut a few scenes out the movie would’ve honestly been a whole lot better. This being said, any Marvel/ x-men fan must watch this movie. This movie didn’t have that special ending most Marvel movie’s have which kind of disappointed me and a lot of people. Marvel could’ve done much better. Overall above average.
I would give this movie 3.5/5 stars.
