So, I saw this movie in the theater yesterday and that was to my surprise considering it has been there for about a month in India now. The movie shows a continuation from Captain America: Civil War where T’Challa’s dad passes away. Now, he is becoming king. I will definitely give it to this movie for giving us some awesome fight scenes for the most part. The entire first half of the film, the fight scenes were really good and it had a really great chase scene as well with some above average music. The movie didn’t feel very Marvel-like except for the scene where we see Stan Lee. The whole concept really reminded me of Wonder Woman which I was surprised to notice, like that of the tribes and how they are hidden using some weird technology. The film had some average acting and pretty good directing. The enemy choosing was a good idea and they linked it to a nice back story. But, his character as a whole was weak and had a poor impact as a ‘villian’ role. The fight scene between T’Challa and his cousin was really boring. I, personally, did not enjoy it at all. Throughout the film they gave us some really awesome fight scenes and at the end they disappointed me with one that was really more talk than show. I really expected something more. The movie also had its’ set of cringe worthy scenes. For eg. when they try to bring back the “WHAT ARE THOSEEEEE” meme. I couldn’t help but laugh in embarrassment at that. The song at the credits was awesome. The movie had a good balance between action and its’ plot. Black Panther’s character is really cool and it’s gonna be interesting to see him in Infinity War. Overall above average.
I would give this movie 3.5/5 stars.
