Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. Hope everyone has had an amazing 2 weeks. With exams over for just a little while, I finally have time to catch up on my blogging schedule. So,let’s begin.
A group of people have volunteered to be sent to live on Mars via a large spaceship which is supposed to help keep everyone on board alive in a long sleep for 120 years. But, when a meteor strikes and causes some system failures, one man is woken up from his sleep and is forced to live alone on the ship for a whole year. His desperation gets the better of him and he wakes up another female passenger. Soo, a romance story begins to unravel.
The story of this movie is quite unique around the fact that its very advanced technology that has the capability to move a large number of people from one planet to another. But, for the first time in history, the equipment has malfunctioned and the ship is extremely lucky to have woken up specifically an engineer who is capable of fixing the ship. Of course, to keep the movie looking realistic, we see a more human side of Chris Pratt who finally wakes up Jennifer Lawrence after having enough of living alone on the ship.
Let me be the first to say that this movie reminds me a lot of a live-action version for Wall-E. Yes, I know the whole concept and story is different, but I couldn’t help but think of Wall-E throughout the duration of this film which actually made me laugh during quite a few serious scenes.
The movie is fun to watch. It is a good realistic/futuristic approach which some great directing quality. The acting in the movie is pretty good and there’s nothing in the movie that comes to you as a “surprise”. It is plain and simple romance and drama with a lot of clichés.
This is the sort of movie that will definitely appeal to the masses because of how it is made and will definitely turn out to be a more than one time to watch film.
The main problem I had with this movie was that the movie lacked powerful scenes and it felt like all the scenes were way too predictable or way too plain and simple. I feel the movie had the ability to add more of an element of surprise and suspense but they failed to do so.
I would recommend to see this film. Overall good.
I would give this movie 3.5/5 stars.
