X-Men: Dark Phoenix: Movie: “Marvel has better plot than action?”

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. A lot of my posts have been pre written and I haven’t been able to write a lot recently because I was busy packing and moving and also busy getting ready to choose some colleges. But I will get some more time devoted to this blog in the near future so stay tuned. So, let’s begin!

Story:

This movie is related to the secret behind Jean’s incredible power and what she had to deal with to survive in the world while everyone is trying to adapt to this new powerful Jean who is leaving destruction behind everywhere she goes.

Review:

I didn’t go into this movie with very high expectations. I had read the reviews and there were a majority of negative ones. However, when I went for the movie myself I was quite surprised to see the opposite.

Like I wrote in the heading, the action in this movie was very bland. Jean was way too powerful and upon her awakening it was quite obvious that she would never be defeated. The action scenes were very small and not very enthusiastic compared to majority of our Marvel movies which leave us at awe with awesome action.

The anime had very minimal anticipation because of the action scenes and only seemed to surprise me when unexpected characters were either getting destroyed in combat or were dying. So the movie was unable to keep me at the edge of my seat throughout its’ screening which is not quite often for X-Men movies.

The real positive of the movie is the whole plot. Watching the secret behind Jean’s powers and how powerful she really is was very interesting. And so, even though the movie couldn’t keep me excited, the plot definitely kept me interested for its’ duration which I can really appreciate.

The movie lacked awesome sound tracks and it felt as though a lot of things in the movie were rushed and not explained properly. Still, I would recommend to watch this movie because it’s not terrible and it does keep you happy for the most part. Overall average.

Rating:

I would give this move 2.5/5 stars.
