Attack on Titan (Season 3 Part 2): Anime: “My best anime season of 2019.”

Hey guys how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. I hope everyone is having a great week. The new semester in college has begun and it is really fun. Even though the schedule is packed, I am really having fun with my studies and the teachers are actually giving some pretty good assignments as well. I’ll keep giving updates like this. So, let’s begin.

Story:

After the discovery of the secret behind the walls surrounding civilisation, the survey corps set out to recapture the area that is rightfully theirs and hopefully take Reiner and Bertholdt into custody as well. Thus begins an all out attack between the survey corps and the rebels. Also, more secrets unravel about the government and Eren’s dad.

Review:

This season of attack on titan is what really captures the essence of the whole anime. With some of the best story line, action, character development, plot twists, animation, drama, etc. this season of the anime truly holds the number one anime of 2019 spot for me.

The season starts off with a very dark atmosphere. A defeated survey corps makes its way to the ruins of what is left of wall Maria. The atmosphere created by the anime really made it a great feeling for the audience. Soon, as the survey corps was examining the wall, Bertholdt and Reiner make their entrance and the battle that proceeds is phenomenal.

Throughout the season we see some of the best action that Attack on Titan has to offer. We get to see the new and improved Erin in his titan form fighting like an absolute pro and we also get to see what we missed out in the previous two seasons: Levi going absolutely mad and fighting like an absolute God. The smoothness in the movements, attacks, and bloodshed really shows how great the animation quality was this time around in the anime.

After the war settles down, we move onto a thicker plot of what is in the basement of Erin’s house (A question eagerly being waited to answer for oh so long). And this is when the whole anime story line changes for the best. As, a non-manga reader, all this stuff comes to me as a surprise so please bear with me. But, oh my god how the story changes. The way they show another civilisation outside the walls that they believed to be the sole living civilisation for so long is the best plot twist anyone could think of. I’m sure a lot of people had already thought of this theory (as did I) but they way they portrayed it was beyond belief. The amount of thought put into this new segment of the story line was a mind blowing twist and is what really made it different from every other season.

Keeping all these things in mind I concluded that this is by far the best anime season of 2019 for me. It has a good opening and ending song as well which ties up the anime totally really well. Overall amazing!

Rating:

I would give this season of the anime 4.5/5 stars.

What was your favourite anime of 2019?
