Black Clover (Ep. 101-125): Anime: “Some of the best and worst.”

Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. I hope everyone is having a great, safe, and healthy week. So, let’s begin.

Review:

These episodes of black clover were a real roller coaster of emotions for me because there were times when I was so bored or annoyed that I felt like quitting but there were also times when my mind was absolutely blown with the animation, action, plot, etc.

First coming to the negatives. The initial few episodes in the 100s were an ultimate level of boring. Boring fights, boring plot, and overall boring character development as well. They were still dwelling on with power of friendship and this has started getting annoying with this anime. The creators seem to be taking their own sweet time as they like to waste episodes with fillers that add no value to the anime and further cause the audience to lose interest . There seemed to be no difference with the anime from the very beginning and the only thing that seemed to be changing was the power levels but this was extremely gradual as well. As a matter of fact, after all the amazing episodes as well, episode 125 was another disappointment. I can see how after such a heavy action packed few episodes, they really needed to break the flow before the next arc by keeping a filler but I’ve seen a lot of anime and there are things like good fillers as well. And clearly, black clover lacks these as evident from the fact that I couldn’t even watch the entire episode 125 without skipping through half of the scenes.

Now coming to the positives of the anime, there are a lot. First and foremost, I must salute this anime for being able to change my whole view of this anime with just one amazing villain. Not only do we get to witness some of the best action scenes in all of anime history but we also get to see some of the best plot that any anime has to offer. With the speed at which we get to see Yuno and Asta’s development, there was immense amount of hype that was created based around the fight against the villain. I will never give any spoiler but the fight between Licht and the Wizard King was beyond belief amazing. Every movement, every scene was worth watching and had me at awe at all times. Yami like always was an absolute beast with his power, concentration, and ki. But the real show stopper was Asta who is slowly learning how to control his demon powers more and more. The anime introduces (and removes) two other characters as well (again no spoilers) who just blow you away with their entry, back story, and power. You can really see the efforts of the creators in these episodes of the anime by making a back story that related to the present time line story as well which just made everything so much more interesting.

Another outstanding thing was the animation quality of this anime. The fight scenes were further enhanced due to the animation which made it a lot more fun to watch. The opening and ending songs were great listens. So, while there were a ton of negatives with this anime before, a lot was covered up because of the positives in these episodes. That’s why I can’t wait to see what the future episodes have to offer. Overall great.

Rating:

I would give these episodes of the anime 4/5 stars.
