Hey guys, how’s it going? Rahul here coming in with a brand new blog. I hope everyone has had a great, safe, and healthy week. So, let’s begin.
These episodes cover two arcs.
The first arc is a filler arc where Naruto and his team are made to protect the tombs of some of the Twelve Guardian Shinobi. However, things become tough as the people attempting to stream the tombs are extremely tough opponents who are trying to destroy the whole of Konoha and bring the feudal lord of the Fire Kingdom back to his rightful throne.
In the next arc, two members of the Akatsuki are on their way through the Fire Country to earn more money. After discovering of their existence, Tsunade orders teams of Shinobi to stop them in their track. However, the amount of power that the Akatsuki members have astonishes everyone leading to an epic battle filled with sad losses and great action.
This anime just crosses all boundaries of excitement, joy, anticipation, and suspense with arcs like these. Although I am personally not a fan of long filler arcs because of how boring they are, this anime gave a fun, action packed filler with a transition into an arc that just absolutely blew my mind in terms of story depth, character development, action, and love for characters.
Starting off with the filler arc, we are introduced to a new character, Sora who we hate at first but come to love overtime. And I see that as a trend with this anime when they want us to sympathise deeply with a character that the best way to do it is to first absolutely hate the character. He’s got some immensely strong power which we get to see at the very end of the arc while going up against Naruto. At the same time, we see how Naruto has learned not to rely on his Kyuubi power so much and rather use his own abilities and power to become stronger and closer to Sasuke. The arc showed some really strong enemies that took a lot of time to defeat. I don’t usually like talking about filler arcs because for the most part they’re boring and insignificant but I just found this arc to be much more interesting and thrilling than usual. However, I made sure not to keep my expectations so high for all the filler arcs because I just know that I’ll be setting myself up for disappointment. While this arc was quite fun I still found the plot to be quite weak and lacking causing me to not see more than 2-3 episodes per day which made my progress through this arc extremely slow as well.
Coming to the highlight of these episodes, the Akatsuki Suppression Mission Arc. And let me just start of by saying, words can not express how wonderful this arc was. And I know, I am just getting started into something much greater, but every aspect of this arc was so amazing and fun to watch that I can not contain my excitement. While I watched only 2-3 episodes per day for the previous arc, I was watching nearly 6-8 episodes a day fore this arc which made it just fly by in a few days time. Everything from Naruto’s training, to Asuma’s death, to Shikamaru’s planning, to Kakashi’s great ninjutsu skills, to the Akatsuki’s power, to revealing of Naruto’s new power, and a lot more made this arc the perfect mix of everything goofd you can imagine about an anime.
Naruto’s training was quite magnificent in itself to watch. To see the concept of “chakra nature” being introduced into the anime added another huge concept and a lot more depth as to what can be done in terms of power. Kakashi has always been in my top 3 favourite characters and so, having him train Naruto was a treat in itself. Further, they managed to add an element of humour into Naruto’s training by showing how drained Yamato would get by suppressing Naruto’s kyuubi power. The highlight of the training had to be when Naruto and Kakashi clash rasengans and Kakashi turns around and sees Minato in Naruto. This was like a “tears of happiness” kind of moment that hyped me up to my extreme.
Can not sleep on my man Shikamaru. After having to experience the death of Asuma, he devised such an amazing plan to defeat the 2 Akatsuki members that he left not a single hole in the process. This guy genuinely defeated an Akatsuki member all by himself with his genius that I was left shook and speechless. His love for the village and his friends shows his capability and scope of growth. His intelligence is on another level and I can not wait to see what the future has in store for him. Kakuzu and Hidan were awesome Akatsuki members whose bickering and cursing made them so fun to watch. Also, their confidence in their strength showed just how powerful they were. This made their battles so much more interesting and enjoyable than even Sasori and Deidara’s. This set up the ability for the anime to show even more amazing battles in the future on another level.
Seeing Naruto’s new Rasen Shuriken was mind blowing. And seeing him use it in battle made it even better. The plot has matured even more in terms of power levels and character development. The creators have done a good job in maintaining and improving on the maturity to give a great story line and great set up for further anime arcs and battles. Also, seeing Kakshi’s battle against Hidan showed so much great quality and expertise that you cant help but falling in love with him (huge fangirling). The only negative of this anime I could fine would be how many times they repeat past scenes. The anime has the bad habit of focusing on one scene at least 5-10 times throughout a single episode which gets quite repetitive and annoying. However, I find this negative to be quite minuscule and doesn’t affect the other amazing points that much.
Greta opening and ending songs. You can really see the development in animation quality as well which gives more scope to the anime. I am super hyped to see what more this anime will bring. We only get to see 50% of the rasen shuriken which just shows how much more Naruto has growth within him in terms of maturity and character. He seems to have become more serious in his pursuit for Sasuke and wants to develop his own power rather than relying on the 9 tails which makes him seem so much more grown up. Can not express how much I cried during Asuma’s death. The anime did a great job in setting up the whole “depressive” atmosphere for that scene. A great few episodes and a lot of excitement for more. Overall, amazing stuff.
I would give these episodes of the anime 4.5/5 stars.
